VR-Netze GmbH

The VR-Netze GmbH is a subsidiary of the DZ BANK Konzern und Gesellschaft für Netzwerk-Services im genossenschaftlichen FinanzVerbund (association for network services within the cooperative financial transaction banking network). The association works in the sector of service management for network services. It refers to the control and provision of efficient network services for voice and data communication, while simultaneously observing company targets and business processes of associated clients.

The area-wide IT network covers approx. 490 Volksbank and Raiffeisenbank subsidiaries with approx. 60K connected users.  

NCP’s task comprised:

• Deployment of centrally managed secure remote access services (managed VPN) for customers (clients)
• Utilisation of various media types
• Double authentication (user and PC)
• Deployment of individual security policies
• Single point of administration
• Security for remote workplace
• Customer specific selection of  VPN infrastructure (clients) from dial-in to management  

Deployed NCP-solution:

Remote access via various end devices (laptop, notebook, PDA) via ISDN, GSM, GPRS, UMTS, Modem, xDSL and the Internet, certificate based authentication (USB token, soft certificate, Smartcard) within a PKI (Entrust CA), IPsec VPN infrastructure: NCP Secure Enterprise Client (Win32/64), NCP Secure Enterprise Windows Mobile Client, several NCP Secure Enterprise Server. NCP Secure Enterprise Load Balancing Server, NCP Secure Enterprise Management.
