Everything Under Control

Remote access solutions have to be not only highly secure, user friendly, and comprehensible, but also manageable. From the viewpoint of a systems administrator, there are clear cut requirements to be met: He must be able to ‘see’ all remote PCs and systems regardless of their transfer medium – in other words: high levels of transparency must be maintained in conjunction with complete compliance with all security guidelines. Furthermore, the risk of faulty configurations and human error in operations must be minimised. These requirements can only wholly be met within an IPSec VPN. An SSL VPN would limit central management to the areas of certificate administration and endpoint security.

Required are management functionalities in regards to:

  1. Mass Rollout
    • Organisation and deployment
    • Customisation (user initialisation) at first access to the company network (PCs already onsite)
    • Issuing certificates (requests to CA [Certification Authority], forwarding to user)
  2. Central Management e.g. of:
    • User specific data (config., telephone directory, etc.)
    • Integrated personal firewall for the Secure Enterprise Client
    • Removing VPN gateways (e.g. within the branch office network)
    • Software updates (new versions, service releases)
    • Certificates (renewals, disabling, etc.)
  3. Endpoint Security, i.e. validations for all relevant security parameters before accessing the company network.

The NCP Secure Enterprise Management conforms with its individual function modules to each and every requirement for a comprehensive and centrally operated VPN solution. All status information is passed to the administrator in graphic format, to be displayed in real time on the system monitor. Remote PCs and VPN gateways are integrated into the central system via so called ‘managed units’ (options). In addition, the standard solution package also contains a complete RADIUS server. In case of service disruption or unplanned downtime, a backup system will provide maximum system availability.

Supported operating systems:

    • Windows 2000, XP, 2003 Server
  • Management Console:
