FIPS Compliance - Multi Certificate Configuration - Optimized Battery Life of Mobile End Devices
Due to the new multi certificate configuration, the NCP Client now offers flexible authentication options. Multi certificate configuration allows for saving various different individual certificate settings. This feature permits teleworkers to authenticate at different VPN remote sides via different certificates. For example, authentication at gateway 1 is carried out via soft certificate and at gateway 2 it is carried out via a certificate stored on a token.
In addition, the client's graphic interface has been improved. All icons on mobile end devices have been adapted and the user interface of the configuration manager has been brushed up
The handling of the most important configuration items "profiles", IPsec2" and "certificates" has been optimized, too. You can now open them directly - needing one click only. NCP adapted the client's internal PKI module which resulted in lowered power usage and this increased battery life of mobile end devices.
NCP's stated goal is to continue to build our customers' trust in our software. This is one of the reasons why we build cryptographic algorithms according to the FIPS standard. The FIPS standard, the Federal Information Processing Standard describes the published US standards.
