35.000For more than ten years, Ratiodata has relied on NCP Secure Enterprise VPN to provide secure and highly available remote access services. Over the years, the solution has continuously evolved to support a growing customer base, delivering scalable, centrally managed VPN connectivity for tens of thousands of users.
As one of the leading IT service providers for the financial sector, Ratiodata provides customers with secure, highly available remote access to internal networks and business applications. To support this service, the company required a remote access platform that could scale with growing user numbers, support a wide range of endpoint devices, and reliably serve multiple customer environments.
The goal was to build a secure, highly available remote access service that could be managed efficiently while supporting the diverse requirements of customers in the financial sector.
Ratiodata (formerly operating as VR Netze) adopted NCP's IPsec VPN technology as early as 2000, initially deploying six NCP Secure Enterprise VPN Servers to provide secure remote access for approximately 7,000 users. Over the years, the platform has continuously evolved and today consists of 24 VPN systems, securely connecting around 35,000 users from locations across Germany and around the world. NCP Secure Enterprise VPN was selected for its high scalability, centralized VPN management, and broad compatibility with Windows, Linux, macOS, and a wide range of IP-enabled endpoint devices. Integrated security features such as certificate-based authentication, Personal Firewall, and Endpoint Security Checks, combined with support for multiple connection types, including WLAN, LTE, and other mobile networks, ensure secure and reliable remote access wherever users work.
Solutions Used
NCP Secure Enterprise VPN meets the functional requirements of both Ratiodata and its customers through secure user authentication based on digital certificates and a highly scalable VPN platform. At the same time, centralized management reduces the administrative effort required for large-scale deployments, resulting in lower training and support costs. Additional security technologies, including the integrated Personal Firewall, Endpoint Security Checks, and the Load Balancing Server, further enhance the platform's security, availability, and reliability.
