Data collected on our website

Usage data

When you visit our websites, you transmit data to our web server (for technical reasons) via your Internet browser. The following data is recorded during an ongoing connection for communication between your Internet browser and our web server:

  • Request date and time
  • Name of the requested file
  • Page from which the file was requested
  • Access status (file transferred, file not found, etc.)
  • Client web browser and operating system
  • Full IP address of the requesting computer
  • Size of data transferred.

For IT security purposes, in particular to prevent attempted attacks on our web server, this data is stored by us for a short time. It is not possible for us to identify individual persons on the basis of this data. After seven days at the latest, the data is anonymized by shortening the IP address at the domain level, so that it is no longer possible to establish a link to the individual user. This anonymized data may be processed for statistical purposes, however it will not be compared with other databases or forwarded to third parties, even in partial form.

Use of Evalanche for managing and sending newsletters

Newsletter signup

If you would like to receive the newsletter offered on our website, we require an e-mail address from you as well as confirmation that you are the owner of the e-mail address provided and that you agree to receive the newsletter. After signing up, you will receive an email asking you to confirm your newsletter registration. We will only send our newsletter to you after you confirm that you signed up (double opt-in). Additional data is not collected or only collected on a voluntary basis (for example, title, first name, last name, country, company, etc.). We only use this data to send the requested information and do not forward it to third parties.

Consent to using your email address for sending out the newsletter is based on Art. 6 (1) (a), Art. 7 GDPR and § 7 (2) (3) or (3) UWG. The use of the newsletter service, analytic monitoring and logging the registration process are based on our legitimate interests pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. We have implemented a user-friendly and secure newsletter system that serves our business interests, including direct marketing, as well as meeting users' expectations.

Subscriptions to the newsletter are logged to record the registration process in accordance with legal requirements. This includes the storage of both the registration and confirmation time as well as the IP address. Changes to stored personal data are also logged.

Employees of NCP engineering GmbH can access the data when managing the newsletter service.

Service providers who support us in distributing our newsletter may have access to your data. However, these service providers are obliged by data processing agreements (DPA) not to use this data for their own purposes.

When sending a newsletter via the Internet, forwarding data via servers in other countries cannot be ruled out. Neither NCP nor our service provider have any influence on the routing.

We use Evalanche to send and manage our newsletter. Evalanche is an analysis service provided by  SC Networks GmbH, Würmstraße 4, 82319 Starnberg, Germany.

It is not intended to transfer data to third countries.

The data will be deleted as soon as they are no longer necessary to achieve the purpose for which they were collected. Your email address will therefore be stored for as long as the subscription to newsletter is active.

No automated decision-making or profiling (in accordance with Art. 22 GDPR) will take place using your personal data.

Evalanche uses cookies which are text files stored on your computer that help us to analyze how you use our newsletter. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the newsletter (including your IP address) will be read and sent to a server in Germany.

The newsletter uses pixel tracking. This is a miniature graphic that shows us whether you have opened a newsletter or not. In the retrieval process, technical information, such as information about the browser and your system, the device used and the mail client, as well as your IP address and time of retrieval, are collected. This information is used to improve our service based on the technical data or the target groups and their reading behavior based on retrieval location (which can be determined with the IP address) or access times.

Analytics data also include determining whether the newsletters are opened, when they are opened, which links are clicked and whether the delivery of the emails was successful. Reading time is also recorded but this is only done on a target group basis. Although this information can be assigned to individual newsletter recipients for technical reasons, it is not our intention to record the behavior of individual users. Rather, the data collected help us to recognize the reading habits of our users and to adapt our content to their interests.

We require your explicit consent to tracking if you would like to receive further information from us that is relevant to you. If you have given your consent to this, you agree that a personal user profile will be created based on your data in order to better adapt websites and newsletters about our products and services to your needs. This allows NCP engineering GmbH to send you information that corresponds to your specific interests. Furthermore, you agree that your usage data on websites and in connection with all e-mails from NCP engineering GmbH will be collected through the use of cookies and tracking technology. Use of Friendly Captcha

This service is offered by Friendly Captcha GmbH, Am Anger 3-5, 82237 Wörthsee, Germany.

Friendly captcha is a privacy-friendly security solution to prevent the use of our website by automated programs and scripts (so-called "bots").

For this purpose, we have integrated code from Friendly Captcha into our website forms which connects to Friendly Captcha's servers and retrieves a captcha task from Friendly Captcha to the visitor’s end device. The visitor's device solves the captcha task, which takes requiring certain system resources, and sends the result to our web server. Our server contacts the Friendly Captcha server via an interface and receives a response as to whether the task has been correctly solved by the end device. Depending on the result, requests via our website are either processed or rejected.

The data will only be used for protecting our website against spam and bots as described above. Friendly Captcha does not set or read cookies on the visitor’s end device. IP addresses are only stored in hashed form and do not allow us or Friendly Captcha to identify an individual. If personal data is stored, this data will be deleted within 30 days.

The legal basis for the processing is our legitimate interests in protecting our website against improper access by bots, as well as spam protection and protection against attacks such as mass requests, according to Article 6 (1) (f) GDPR.
